Weekend Trading Routine

Weekends are where edges are forged. Use this focused routine to reset, learn, and script a clean trading week—so Monday execution is calm and deliberate.

Saturday — Review, Rebuild, Refine

1) Weekly Review (60–90 min)

  • Export last week’s trades. Log R, MAE/MFE, win rate, average R expectancy.
  • Tag rule breaks (late entries, chasing, moving stops).
  • Write 3 bullet takeaways: keep / fix / stop.

2) Market Structure Scan (90–120 min)

  • Mark: weekly/daily H/L, gaps, POC / VAH / VAL, VWAPs, ONH/ONL.
  • Build a watchlist with brief thesis per symbol (trend/balance, key levels, what invalidates).

3) Strategy Lab (60 min)

  • Backtest one micro-variant (e.g., VWAP reversion filter or ORB time filter).
  • Record change → impact on expectancy and drawdown. Keep only what improves both.

Sunday — Educate, Pre-Commit, Prime

4) Education Block (60–90 min)

  • One chapter/video on risk, order flow, or auction theory.
  • Summarize in 5 bullets you can act on this week.

5) Weekly Plan & Risk Guardrails (30–45 min)

  • Set risk per trade (0.5–1%), daily max loss (2–3R), and max trades/day.
  • Define no-trade zones (news windows, fatigue times).

6) Playbook & Scenarios (30–45 min)

  • Write 2–3 A+ setups with: context, trigger, invalidation, targets, notes.
  • Scenario map: trend, balanced, news spike. Pre-plan entries/exits for each.

7) Environment Reset (15–30 min)

  • Clear charts; load only levels, VWAP, and essential signals.
  • Prep hotkeys, timers, alerts. Water, desk, sleep plan ✔️.

One-Page Checklist (print this)

  • Review trades; compute R, expectancy, PF
  • Tag rule breaks; 3 takeaways (keep/fix/stop)
  • Update levels: weekly/daily, POC/VAH/VAL, VWAP, ONH/ONL
  • Refresh watchlist + thesis + invalidation
  • Backtest one tweak; keep only if expectancy↑ & DD↓
  • Study notes (5 bullets)
  • Set risk (0.5–1%), daily max loss (2–3R), max trades/day
  • Write A+ setups + scenarios
  • Reset workspace; alerts ready; sleep plan

Bottom line: Routine beats motivation. Show up every weekend, sharpen the process, and let risk discipline compound your edge.
