Statistical absorption detection
Sigma / Z-score based logic to isolate truly significant events
Released December 10, 2025
Find the candles where aggression got absorbed — and trade the defended levels.
KIMATIX Absorption Levels highlights the moments where aggressive orders were absorbed and price left behind meaningful support or resistance. Instead of cluttering your chart with endless swing highs/lows, it uses a sigma / Z-score based absorption metric to detect only the events that clearly stand out from recent history. Each qualifying absorption candle projects a horizontal level that extends forward and remains active until price decisively breaches it.

Absorption is one of the clearest footprints of professional participation: you see strong aggressive buying or selling, but price doesn’t continue — meaning someone on the other side was large enough to absorb it. KIMATIX Absorption Levels is built to capture those moments objectively and turn them into actionable levels.
The script evaluates each candle using a statistical absorption metric and compares it to recent history. When absorption spikes beyond a user-defined threshold (high sigma / high Z-score), it marks the candle and projects a level from it:
From there, levels extend forward automatically so you can trade retests and reactions. When price decisively breaches a level (your choice: wick breach or close breach), the script deactivates it to keep your map current and uncluttered.
If you want cleaner, more “intentional” signals, enable the optional wick rejection filter to focus on trap-style candles — the kind that lure breakouts and then snap back. And if you want to quickly prioritize which levels matter most, turn on sigma labels/triangles so you can visually rank how extreme each absorption event was.
Sigma / Z-score based logic to isolate truly significant events
Distinguishes buy vs sell absorption (different market intent)
Horizontal lines extend forward and deactivate on decisive breach
Sell absorption → potential support (level anchored at candle low) Buy absorption → potential resistance (level anchored at candle high)
Focus on rejection candles and failed break attempts
Choose whether a level breaks by wick or close
Max-lines control + automatic deactivation to keep the chart lightweight
